What is the penalty for underage boat driving in NJ?

We just bought a new waverunner for the family but i can not drive it legally until i am sixteen. my dad says it is ok if it is only for a little bit because i am 15, i took the boaters safety course, have my permit, and my birthday is in November. before i end up screwing up my life i would like to know what the penalty for New Jersey is. Don’t tell this is stupid, i just want to know the penalty.

  1. The actual penalty is a little murky. I understand that only a few violators have been seen after being caught. There are rumors, but at the very least you loose driving privileges until 21, and no cellphone for 30 days. I know …….but it could be worse. these are misdemeanors(s) and a magistrate can determine the fine or imprisonment, lose of privilege etc. There are statutory requirements for driving drunk, that the judge must impose.

  2. Castration

    It’s illegal, don’t ride.

Here’s the real question to ask: I am going to ride my family’s jet ski. If I get in a wreck and my parents get sued, will we lose the house?
