Why are so many adults and children loosing their lives during festivals?

..in India, Philippines, and Indonesia, either on boat/ferry trips or during crowded events over the past few years? Even though similar events of 200-300 casualties have repeatedly occured over the past 20 years? Don’t the responsible organizers, councils, agencies put up safety arrangements at all after so many lessons have been learnt?

Isnt it such a tragic and unnecessary thing for hundreds of people to die each time during happy and sacred festivities and ceremonies?Should the relevant authorities learn from other countries with better safety standards?

Does a charter service hold any responsibility for actions of guests?

The scenario:
Several passengers on a chartered boat were drinking and making lewd and unwanted physical advances towards other passengers. The boat staff was alerted to the situation, but did nothing to approach the men causing the problem, simply told the women to ’stay away’ from the men. On a boat, the options for ‘avoiding’ were slim, and the behavior continued.

Does the charter service hold any accountability for the events, and are they required to provide a refund to the guests who were the target of the drunken advances?

When presented with the complaint, the owner said that the staff should have been told (which they were) and that regardless, they have a clause in their terms of service ‘protecting’ them from any liability.

Is a clause in their tos a protection for them from having to ensure the safety of their guests?

Sway,
It was not ‘unwanted cat calls’ it was drunken men making sexual advances, suggestions, and physically grabbing the arm of several women on board.

The staff was notified, and the behavior continued.
Laughter,
It went beyond annoyance.

In that situation, several of us were afraid, and did not feel safe. It was not being annoyed by some jerk, it was not that trivial.

I feel if the staff would have said something to them, the behavior may have been curbed, if they knew the staff wasn’t going to tolerate it.

what is the safe age for little kids to go boating on a small but powerful boat?

I have 2 little kids (3 yr old and 1 yr old) and want to rent a boat for the day…. The boat will be about 20-25 feet long and while it is designed for water skiing, I will not be doing any waterskiing, but rather just boating around Marina Del Rey down to Orange Ccounty and so forth, on the ocean, but not if the water is rough.

What age is safe for kids to be on a boat like this. We wont be speeding but we wont be sailing. And an adult will be holding on to the one year old at all times?

Any other safety tips for a newbie would be most appreciated.

What is protocol if a Cruise Ship begins to sink?

We are planning a cruise this spring and I’m a bit terrified! What are the safety protocols if the ship is in distress (aside from the life boats), is there anything stating other vessels or cruise ships or Navy orNational Guard life flight, etc are around or anything?

Can my brother commit his wife to a mental institution?

Background – Brother is in USCG. Found out the other day, wife has been cheating in his home when he goes on the boat. He came home a day early and found her in bed with another man…

He took wife to see psychiatrist who diagnosed her with depression with suicidal ideation and alcoholism.

They have a two month old child.

She is 19. My brother is 23. The wife has been hanging with a girl who’s boyfriend is involved in gang activity.

She is down to 90lbs and we have reason to believe she is using drugs, other than marijuana.

She has already threatened my brother with knives and is extremely violent and erratic. She still has a key to their apartment. He fears for his safety and the safety of their child.

Can he put her away? How would he go about doing this.

He is filing for divorce today.

Thanks.
CompassionateAngel-OMG! I’m with you on this one. We TOLD my brother this chick was trouble. I just fear for my brother’s safety and the baby. I’m all the way in Michigan. He’s in Missouri by himself. My father’s going down there tomorrow. Thank God. This is insane.
